with the J9 Eclipse Plugin you can target a J9 JRE running on your workstation to ease testing and debugging. You can download a trila/beta J9 JRE for your workstationOS from this trial j9 listing and of course limitations per license apply.

Once the J9 JRE is installed you will be able to point/target it in the installed JREs under the Java preferences in the Eclipse IDE.
