There is a trick to setting the J9(WEME) JREs as installed JREs in Eclipse other than getting the j9 JDT plugin. The trick according to this J9 Eclipsepedia page is to after instaling the J9 WEME you need to go in and extract the zip file and point to it as an installed JRE. The jvm you see is just the jvm used by the installer and not a JRE.
