Many of the new features in the latest version of NetBeans, Sun's open-source multi-language IDE, aim to make developer collaboration easier. For instance, NetBeans 6.7 supports Kenai, the Sun-hosted open-source collaboration service, and allows Kenai project management directly inside the IDE.
In addition, Maven support was enhanced in NetBeans 6.7 with a library dependency graph viewer, improved code completion for Maven plugin parameters, as well as with a POM editor. Integration with the Glassfish v3 Prelude application server has also become easier with code completion for Glassfish-related tasks.
NetBeans has for a long time been a multi-language IDE. In the 6.7 release, PHP developers are now able to use PHPUnit from within the IDE, and also generate code coverage reports. Grails support was increased to Grails 1.1, and code completion for Grails saw significant improvements as well. Ruby and Rails developers will benefit from the ability to debug remotely running Ruby applications, as well as from support for the Shoulda behavior-based testing framework. And C and C++ developers benefit from more refactorings and code generation for C/C++ code.
Among the most significant updates in the 6.7 release is support for the newly released Java ME 3.0 SDK.
