Hi Dušan,

I did meet with Greg and he has been making progress. We'll aim to get a new PrePrint out in May.

Version 4 PrePrint of Monadic Design Patterns is out! I'll send out an announcement email shortly, but you can just follow your receipt to download.

almost 4 months passed since the last update, can we expect PrePrint Version 5 anytime soon?

Can we expect the final release this year ?

Would you still give a refund if this is not the case ?

Hi Dušan,

Sorry I replied to Pierre privately. I had a quick conversation with Greg today. He has made some good progress. He's busy right now with a big release, but will be checking in in the next two weeks. I'm lining up an editor to focus on it, and so we should have a new version out within a few weeks. Since this is taking a long time, I'm happy to give refunds to anyone who would rather not wait any longer. You can post here and I'll contact you via email.

Thanks.

Bill

Any more news on this? I can't tell from the download link whether the draft has been updated since I last checked (a last updated date in the book or next to the download links would be useful, btw). I'd love to know this book might *finally* get printed one day.

Hi Bill,

since I've ordered this book I've read Functional Programming in Scala and found it to be an excellent, enlightening source on Monads.

I wonder whether in your opinion Gregs book, considering how long it has been in making, will still be able to offer enough compelling and uniquely fresh material on the subject when/if it is going to be finished.

Programming in Scala is really a gem, I really wish Artima could publish yet another masterpiece of a book in my field of interest ...
