Thank U 4 answering - but i implemented a keylistener and ask for the key-event if it's equal to KeyEvent.VK_TAB. All other key-events are coming through to my listener, but the tab-event gets consumed somewhere before. i think it is the focusmanager, but it don't how to tell him, that he should not not steal this f**ing tab-event. i even override the isManagingFocus-Method in my panel but i had NO effect. Thank U NEway
