make Clob insertion to Oracle in Java

Hi,

I'd like to write an application in Java that write in a Table : myTable constructed as follow:myTable (int primaryKey, Clob myClob).
The element to Insert in the Clob column are String which have more than 3000 characters.
How can I do to convert String to Clob?
Do I need to Stream an empty_Clob()?
Does it work with thin drivers?
