Placing Images in Canavas

Dear Friends

I am new to this group, I hope you would help me at your best. I have to create something like VB/Visual Age for Java. I am stuck at one place, let me say mt probs..... when a user click on any object it has to be displayed in the form and he can move or resize or delete that image from the from, which I bascially guess can be a CANVAS, but how do I put images in Canvas and have a listener to that images...
