Java Comm API with a JTextField.

Posted by Mandz on February 20, 2002 at 5:25 PM

I have not used the Java Comm API before I have downloaded it and installed it. I would like to write a simple app say with 2 jtextFields and would like just ONE of them to listen for input from a serial port. I will be connecting a barcode scanner to the serial port, and it will just be jtextField only has to recive ASCII characters and does not need to send data back. I would Be greatfull I someone could write me sample app of this, so I can use it to learn from. I have not be able to find other examples of this, I have looked at the Java I/O book and not really worked it out yet.

Many thanks in advance.
Mandz.
