Message:

setting an upper bound on the amount of text that can be entered into JTextArea

Posted by Gargi on February 08, 2002 at 2:02 AM

Is there anyway of setting the maximum number of characters that can be entered in JTextArea? When the number of characters in the JTextArea reaches this limit it doesn't let the user do any insertions, but it allows deletion. Whenever the number of characters falls below the maximum limit because of deletion, it will again start allowing insertions.
