Cant add or delete friends from Yahoo messenger

I cant add or delete friends I get a general error and it just started I was working fine until 01/05/2002
Now every time I try to add a friend I get a gray box with a general error message.
When I try to delete a member it acts like it is going to delete the member and then does not do it
Help
