Displaying greek letters.

Is it possible to display greek letters on my screen by doing something like this:
....
System.out.println("\u03C0 is the greek letter pi");
....

I can't seem to see it, but instead, I only get output:
? is the greek letter pi

Note: I'm running IDE JCreator on top of JDK1.2 on Win98.
