Message:

exception handling

Posted by Anup on March 22, 2001 at 11:11 PM

I have written some servlets. In all doGet and doPost
methods i have given try-catch blocks wherever necessary, instead
of putting whole function into try-catch.
I want to know that does try-catch block affects the performance of program?

Which of above methods is beneficial if i want to handle
the exception in some perticular manner so that i can
notify the client about exception/error?

Where can I find documentation/programs for effective
exception handling?

Thank you.
Anup
