accessing keyboard in java

In foxpro and visual basic and probably in many other languages
there are facility to use keyboard through program.what i mean
is that a program in java will give ctrl+c inside keyboard
buffer as is any one has typed it and the selected portion
of any text in an editor will be copied to clipboard as if
pressing ctrl+c on keyboard.
