Custom Search Engine for Programming Languages (View in Weblogs)

Summary
I've recently discovered the Google custom search engine service (the so-called Google co-op) and I've used it to build a search engine service dedicated to programming languages.

The new co-op service from Google is very impressive. It lets you build custom search engines on any topic with a very fine level of control over how it orders your results to suit your audience. I recently built my very own custom search engine for programming language research (http://www.cdiggins.com/search), so that I don't have to append superflous words to my searches like "language", "programming", or "theory". So now typing "Pizza" gives me the results I want!

Doesn't seem to work with Firefox 2.0 unless I open it in the IETab.

Clicking search doesn't change anything.

Thanks for pointing that out, I've made the changes. I don't have Firefox 2.0 installed, but I'm downloading and installing it now, to assure that everything works fine.

Thanks again!

:-)

I realized that after I wrote the post, but it works for other overloaded terms like Ruby, Scala, Pizza, etc. Google doesn't think its important enough yet, which I think is probably a pretty fair assesment. I don't want to be accused of bias anyway.

Do you have any information about the backend programming language used in Google & Yahoo. In case of MSN I am sure they are relying on .NET or some other microsoft based programming language.
