Yeah, sorry, I misspoke (miswrote). I generally just cut and paste if it's long. But it's a lot of clutter in the code, especially since it has no real effect on anything.
Yeah, I know it might matter if reification were introduced but does anyone think that's a likely to happen?
As far as whether it should be on the RHS or the LHS. It seems pretty obvious that RHS is the right answer in general but we need to accept Java for what it is and look elsewhere for perfection. Just my two cents.
