I apologize for asking such an easy question, but I just got a new laptop that runs windows xp and I am looking to run an old java program that I created three years ago in college. I have tried to download different versions of Java SDK, but I cannot get any to work. Could someone please give me a step-by-step solution on what I need to do to run this program? I am starting from scratch. Thanks

What does "but I cannot get any to work" mean? You get some exception? You get "'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file?" Or is it "unknown command or file name?" Or what?
