I tracked down a copy of Panther today and I'm about to install it. I'm going for the "please erase my entire harddisk and install a fresh OS" option. Stuff I've backed up includes my home directory and some of the apps in /Applications.

As a switcher, this is my first Mac OS X upgrade. Fingers crossed!
