There is an inteesting editorial this morning on the
SonyEricsson CEO interview at devicetop.com. Some of the slower growth
conclusions of this CEO reflect in what developer chooses as a short temr
standard and long term standard to develop on in J2ME.
Remember as
J2ME developer its your vuture revenue. While listening to SUN sometimes
produces results, listening blindly to get on JTWI and MIDP 2.0 if you new
J2ME is a bit missleading. Missleading, becasue MDIP 1.0+closed apis is
going to be the big in revenue for the next 3 years until the full
transition to MIDP 2.0 amoung the wireless handset user occurs.
This is the reason I came up with a new plan to go from MIDP 1.0 to MDIP
+closed apis to MIDP 2.0 with an empahis on MIDP+closed apis to maxmize th
revenue earned this year by my devlopment efforts. If you are new to J2ME
to make sure you get all the revenue you deserve. learn the differences
between MIDP1.0 and MIDP 2.0 and the differences between those closed apis
with MIDP1.0 and their inclusion in MIDP 2.0 and develop for
MIDP1.0+closed apis.
You will be happier adn have enough revenue to
support your indvidual one person shop J2ME development.
