So there was this message on the Rails dev list from someone who said they had run into sufficient issues such that Rails was just no longer an option. As consolation, though, the disheartened developer went and bought a new guitar.
I asked if it was a Strat; it wasn't, but this made me think of an amusing Ruby tag line:

And then I came across this:
All the principles that made the Stratocaster successful can be applied to the design of software as well: It should be built as efficiently as possible without sacrificing quality.
