So, this might possibly the coolest (and most insane) computing problem I have ever worked on. Basically, that codex with all the gibberish and odd data formats embedded turned out to be machine code for a virtual machine. One which we had to implement, and though we’re not certain, we’re suspecting it is turing complete. [...]
