While on vacation I finished Vernor Vingh's A Deepness in the Sky. Verdict? Meh. He has a good writing style, but it just fell flat with me. In addition to about 300 pages of unnecessary exposition, one of the plot twists still doesn't make sense to me. Anyway, I'm done with Vernor Vingh.
On the movie front I just watched Rambo and god help me, I actually enjoyed it. Apparently I was in the mood for a bit of the ol' ultra violence.
