I was trying to figure out the syntax for something similar to "Instantiating New Objects From Generics" using VB.NET.

Google led me to Jan's post, which has a comment from Paul Vick with a tip about a change in the syntax.

Public Function GetItem(Of T As {BaseClass, New})(ByVal MS as String) As T

Dim bc as T = new T()
bc.MySring = MS
Return bc

End Function
