Charles Miller on the elusive ease of use of Linux on the desktop:
Around the Atlassian lunch-room table, during a discussion of the relative merits of operating systems, it was noted that Linux-use around the office seemed to correlate quite strongly with having a beard -- something that was certainly true of the small sample present at the time -- and that traditionally, the length of one’s beard is an indicator of Unix expertise. “You know why that is?”, Mike asked. “The rest of us actually have time to shave.”
That's about the size of it. I much prefer managing applications on a Linux server, but I just can't see myself fighting with Linux on the desktop.
