We are having an awful ice storm tonight:

To add to the excitement, our power blinked a number of times earlier, after which the net was out again. I restarted the cable modem and the router, and still nothing. A call to Comcast made me think it was the router, since I wasn't getting an IP address - but I tried hauling a notebook to the basement (and up a ladder to the cable modem), and issued a command to renew the IP address. After that, the connection was good. Still not sure why power cycling didn't accomplish the same thing...
