I grabbed the latest version of RubyGems and typed: traken$ sudo gem --remote-install log4r Successfully installed log4r version 1.0.5 With one command, log4r was downloaded and installed without hassle or fuss. This is way cool. There is a lot of work to be done on RubyGems, but making Ruby project installations this easy is great.

Matz is accepting RCRs (Ruby Change Requests) for Ruby 2.0 and Rite until the end of March. Tell the truth, is there something in Ruby that you wished worked a little differently? If so, now is your chance to stand up and be counted....
