If Architects Had To Work Like Web Designers... - I don't typically like the "If foo had to do bar" genre, but this is very well-written, and so many people compare programming to architecture that I couldn't resist. I'd normally just stick this in my del.icio.us links but I also wanted to point out that this has been around a while.

IOC 0.01 - But unlike the earlier one I mentioned, this one is by someone I know of (Stevan is now maintaining DBD::Mock). And I know he's got lots of clues. (Except for some reason he insists on using mixed case method names instead of underscores!)

Tech council taps CEOs for honors - It's odd to be working for a notable company, even if it's just in a local paper/award. Apparently this is the second year in a row we (Vocollect) has won in the 'Information Technology' category. Two minor problems with the article: we don't have any plans for such a facility in Europe, and our employee...

Last night I gave a presentation (PDF) on the Workflow module to the Pittsburgh Perlmongers. It went pretty well -- my last-minute idea to compare a workflow to a board game seemed to register okay. It can be difficult talking about generic frameworks but I've found a good way is to show rather than tell, so we walked through the example...

Building the Perfect Bleeding-Edge PC, Part 2 - Well-written article about building a top-of-the-line-for-today PC. I haven't built a really nice machine in a long time so a lot of this is new to me -- graphics cards have fans now? But really surprising was the first photo on page 4 -- I can't believe after all this time we still have those...
