OK, I really don't have much to do while recooperating - so I've been spending a lot of time watching Dallas re-runs (yes, my wife and I watched all of the Dallas TV series). A lot of us veteran techie geeks are talking about Taco Doritos and how we loved them (we can't seem to find them anymore). Well, Susan (an ex-Dorito's employee) helps us out, posting to our conversation and tells us why (although they still can be found) they're hard to make

Sure, I've had drops of comment spam here and there, but this dude was all automated - posting gambling URLs in comments for each of my posts on teh blog. The only good thing was that all the comments were in sequence, so it wasn't that hard to write a...

I knew it. Starting tomorrow, a lot of the major web sites (MSN, ESPN, etc) are going to embed full motion commercials when loading pages from their web sites. I understand the need to susidize a company's presence on the Net, but I'm not looking forward to a bunch of crap playing on my PC when all I want is just some information.

MovableType just released version 2.66, which includes a stopgap feature to help with comment spam. It also changes the way URLs are embedded in comments (by implementing some redirection), so that spammers don't...
