KC Lemson has a great post on how to remove the lingering collaboration information from MS Office documents. Even by accepting all comments, Office still leaves behind some information embedded in the document - stuff that you might not want to have accessed if putting an electronic Office document out in the open. Good stuff.

Dave Burke came across an interesting problem working with VS.NET when trying to compile his project. He likes to use a network share to get to his project folders (as a lot of development teams do). Dave dug through this Google post to find out that a trusted share needs to have full trust from VS.NET. You can do this manually by running the...

I've been receiving a lot of comment traffic lately on my Xbox & HDTV posts. One of the most prominent questions is which Xbox games support true HDTV resolution (1080i). Well, up until now, I've only been able to speak to the games I owned. BUT, now I've found a site that lists a slew of Xbox games, their supported resolutions, and some other...

For all you geeks out there who fondly remember the flavor of Taco Doritos, but were disappointed to learn that they were discontinued a few years back, I've got some good news for you. My wife found a new Doritos type called Zesty Taco Rollitos on the shelf this weekend. She brought a bag home, and I swear it's the same flavor as those old Taco...

An interesting statistic from Nielsen/NetRatings says that 76% of all connections do not involve a web browser. These connections are mainly file sharing, instant messenging, and media players. Coming up fast is probably online gaming via consoles like Xbox, PS2, and PCs.

Scoble has an interesting post about stopping the Windows name starting with the release of Longhorn in order to let the public know that it is an entirely different operating system.

Well, it's the new year and so THIS becomes the first official IlluminatiLand post of the year 2004. I was talking to a developer the other day about my article on SQL CE Merge Replication and how to develop a disconnected CF.NET application that merges changes back to the repository. The question came up whether SQL CE used another port for Merge...
