Wil Wheaton posts about giving your Gmail invites to overseas troops, who are stuck with lesser (slower and smaller space) free web mail accounts. Since disk space is especially the key to being able to send pictures and videos both ways, it's a huge win to get able to give them 1GB of free drive space. Sounds good to me. I have 1 left to give...

Scott Hanselman comes up with this gem: "Comparing Thunderbird to Outlook Express is the difference between shooting a bullet...and throwing one." Couldn't agree more. Thunderbird is masterful. Outlook Express is a joke. I do feel obliged to point out, though, that the IMAP code in Thunderbird is still a little... well, I guess wonky is the...

I agree with Peter (we talked about this Friday, when I stopped by to see him at his office, so he could disparage the length of my car :-p). Unit Testing support should be included with all versions of Visual Studio 2005 and not just with Team System. Mark up +1 for the petition.

As promised, I've added new content to DotNetDevs.com. The first article, Reflection Demystified, covers the basics of reflection. I wrote this article essentially as a supplement to the Attribute based URL Dispatching article, to help describe the use of reflection in the dispatching system. The second article, Using Reflection for the Visitor...

The Dell 2001FP arrived yesterday, so I've had about 8 hours of stick time with it now. Here's my initial thoughts. Highlights: Four inputs: VGA, DVI-D, S-video and composite; when in VGA or DVI-D mode, you can PIP with either the S-video or composite output. Picture quality is all around excellent with all the inputs, although you see the...

I haven't forgotten about my "one article per month", but I also hadn't expected to be swamped so soon. I have two or three solid articles ready to be written (meaning, they're in my head, but not in text form yet). I also have pieces of a new infrastructure up, but nowhere near completed yet. If I can find time this weekend, I'm going to try...

Welp, seems like everybody is starting something new, and I've been pretty remiss in blogging about them. Ingo Rammer, Christian Weyer, Christian Nagel, and Ralf Westphal started Thinktecture. These guys are clearly going to be the premiere .NET consulting company of Europr. Sam Gentile joined Adesso Systems as Chief .NET Architect. I don't...
