For those who don't know, Pixar parted ways with Disney on their collaboration on animation movies. Ok...however, no, Matt did not sign a multi-million/billion dollar deal with Disney. But...AppFuse has made it's name here in the land of Mickey :-) Last night at the Orlando JUG meeting, Compuware gave a presentation on "MDA and OptimalJ". During...

I spent the last hour reading through the WIRED article The New Face of the Silicon Age. The quote that caught my attention was "high concept and high touch". It can be understood in its correct context of the paragraph below: "And therein lies the opportunity for Americans. It's inevitable that certain things - fabrication, maintenance, testing,...

Today I discovered the website of the President of India, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kamal. Reading his impressive profile, it is clear to see why India is on path to even greater things. He is a distinguished engineer and technologist, and has mapped out a "Technology Vision 2020" (a road map for transforming India from the present developing status to a...

As most may know, Apache Axis does not support asychronous web services invocation via results callbacks. .NET's web services implementation, however, does support asychronous invocation via results callbacks. This paper discusses implementing an asynchronous invocation framework using four patterns for asynchronous invocation ("fire and forget",...

There is another .NET and Java interop(erability) article over at MSDN. This one talks about Enterprise Interoperability: .NET and J2EE. I believe Interoperability is the "buzzword of 2004" (as Web Services was for 2003), so here is the article's definition: "Interoper 400 ability: The capability to communicate, execute programs, or transfer data...

I am seeing alot of posts about the newly realeased Windows Services for Unix 3.5, and know people also use Cygwin for their UNIX based environment within Windows. To me Windows SFU looks promising for developing with Mono, as it offers a Windows based UNIX environment for .NET framework development. Basically you can develop your Windows apps...

I am working with WebSphere Studio Device Developer to test out some samples from Enterprise J2ME. Like I had posted earlier I was able to get the J9/WebSphere Micro Environment running on my Toshiba e355. I now successfully was able to also build and deploy apps to 400 the device and run them directly from WSDD. I am having a problem with...
