Microsoft blogging is great. You can not get enough news from the mothership and hopefully they will continue the trend. Although MS was probably not the first company to start blogging, there does seem to be more and more tech companies blogging, which I think in some way should be attributed to Microsoft's push. At Tech-Ed I had a chance to...

I have been asked quite a few how I did the links page for my own blog. I did not include the control in .Text yet, so if you want to drop it in your install, you can get the basics here. One thing I thing I left off was you need to inherit from the .Text BaseControl. Speaking of the link's page, any thoughts on this vs. having your blogroll on...

Like Rory mentions on this week's .NET Rocks, I have still done very little with code generation. The guest this week was Kathleen Dollard who did a good enough job of selling code generation that I will be picking up her book on the subject. I am also looking forward to Scott Hanselman's BOF on the same topic at Tech-Ed.

Might just be new to be, but here is a quick shot of the RSS Feed viewer in the latest Longhorn preview. To view the feed, just right click on the desktop panel and select “News Feed”.

If you are a fan of Reflector*, you have to check out Denis Bauer's FileDisassembler. “The Reflector FileDisassembler is a little add-in for Lutz Roeder's .NET Reflector that can be used to dump the decompiler output to files of any Reflector supported language (C#, VB.NET, Delphi). “ Wow. My very own copy of System.Web :) Dennis also...

The blogging BOF at the PDC was..well...interesting, but pretty unorganized. I would like to set one up for Tech-Ed, but I am not sure what the focus should be. Any suggestions?

I just did a quick spot on .NET Rocks. I was actually pretty quite as the conversation turned to XAML, which I have yet to really dig into. Still it was a pretty informative couple of hours with Don as main guest (any guess as to the core topic :).

Julie breaks down how she got to be a .NET Rock Star.

Julie, Marcie, and others have been commenting about the continued growth of weblogs.asp.net and blogs.msdn.com. I won't give any set dates yet, but expect things to get much cleaner and more organized during the summer. You should expect to see global categories, blog groups (MVP's, RD's, ASP.NET people, etc) and a search feature. In addition,...

I just got back from a day of judging the eastern regionals for the Imagine Cup. The competition took nearly 12 hours to complete, but when all was said and done, the team from Boston University took first place and VCU took second. (I would post what they did, but I will leave that to them for a competitive advantage in the finals). All of the...

Jeffery Palermo has been stationed in Iraq for the last year and has started a new blog over on DNJ. One of his first posts is to thank me for .Text. Hmm....seems like it should be the other way around. The hardest thing I had to go through during creating .Text was living at my in-laws for a couple of months while we were waiting for our house to...
