americandrink: “Since I started drinking at 30 it’s been Jameson on the rocks, though the Jameson ad campaigns on the subway have made me think maybe I should switch, since those ads clearly convey that if you drink Jameson you’re an asshole or a corporate tool. Or perhaps I’m being dense and this was the way I was supposed to discover I’m an...

It’s not even a straight...

Door etiquette. Fuck that. Hold it open for the next person, or the whole group you’re with? And isn’t it weird when a bunch of strangers then go through? How about when your group rushes past another group politely waiting for you (even though they got to the door first!). Do you push a two-way door through and hold from the other side? What...

I found that my front mech is so badly adjusted that I have pretty much eaten through it with my chain since the last proper re-adjustment (when I put a new back wheel on). I’ve adjusted the high...

Helen has an Acer AL1916W monitor. It’s widescreen, it’s nice and it mostly gets used with my Xbox (for which it’s fine). However, it’s -always- been slightly blurry when used with her Mac mini. This is made even worse (for me, I don’t think that she notices) by the fact that the blurriness is not uniform — the middle of the screen appears way...
