Rich Salz is a hammer. He dissects and destroys the upcoming new version of WSDL in his latest article on XML.com. To put it simply, these specifications are astoundingly bad. The comment period ended October 4, although looking at the comment list archive shows that comments were still being received, and processed, as recently as last week...

Just found a 5 and a half years old snippet re. SOAP back in 1999. This is very funny to read. And of course Mr. Dave Winer has to talk about XML-RPC, too. Now I can recall why a lot of people still think SOAP and Web services is just a modern form of DCOM. Those were the days where we had this great project and implemented our own (quite...

Kieran seems to be *very* excited about December 16. This is the day I will be in Dublin at the IrishDev User Group and will talk about "Visual Studio .NET's Web services wizardry reconsidered: implementing your Web services the other (the right?) way". Should be a lot of fun and I am looking forward to meeting a number of very interesting and...

A lot of people have asked me recently when I am going to release-to-web the next version of DynWsLib. DynWsLib is a quite successful (see version 1.4) .NET library to call Web services dynamically at runtime without having a static proxy implementation. Today I wrapped up things and we from thinktecture are pleased to provide the lib to...

Nice idea by Don. Although a lot more people would like to have an abstraction over that ;)

We need a helper tool to design the contract, no question. And after right-clicking on my message schemas I actually got one. Look ma - it's a wizard!

Very readable. Learning objective: You will learn techniques to improve portability, reusability, and interoperability in your web services design. Can you imagine using these best practices with something like that? Sounds like goodness.
