So, what would have Bizarro Microsoft done in the last three years? 1) Release three new versions of Windows, with lots of small updates and features instead of saving it all up for one inevitably delayed release.2) Instead of re-writing unit and test coverage in Visual Studio Team System they would have funded NUnit and NCover and then...

I have been playing around with this version of TestDriven.NET for a little bit, and I absolutely love it. Ever since Microsoft made the horrible decision to only have the Test Manager in Team Test I have been loving the fact that TestDriven.NET can run team system unit tests. (since the Test View is all but unusable) Good to also learn that...

I have been really digging this blog called Presentation Zen lately, a couple of their recent posts have great pointers on where to find good images and quotes respectively: Where can you find good images? Where to get quotations for presentations? If you do any public speaking you should be subscribed. -James

Some interesting picks this year. Google Maps API 2005 under the Database Engines and Data Tools section? Thats surprising, but I bet it will win. (since most of the other tools are just new releases of existing databases) Cool to see the Brad Adams Design Guidelines book in the Technical list, also good to see the Rails book which will almost...

Wow, the camp really turned out well. As Jim notes there were somewhere around 130 to 140 people with 24 sessions in 4 different tracks. Jim worked his tail off putting this thing together, I was glad to see it go off so well. (and based on the feedback I got the day of the event and through email afterwards everyone had a great time) What was...

Ok, so here are the contestants: Typo – Ruby on Rails, not as fully-featured but growing.Drupal – Very cool looking, lots of plug-ins and features.WordPress – Lots of people are moving this way, but I hear some complaints as well. I love the wealth of plug-ins. Community Server is pretty much out of the running in my mind, I...

Also considering switching to Typo, I might set up some test blogs on each of these to play around and see how I like the features. Anyone out there who has done this switch? -James
