This Episodes Thought Dave Winer comments on Feeds of evil and expresses his hatred for the call back images contained within feeds. I can agree, but with a slight nuance. It is another kind thats offensive -" del.icio.us " and "Digg this " - you know the ones - you see everywhere. Definitely for Room 101. Now its not the service, the product,...

Rule 1: Inline styles override stylesheets (css). Rule 2: the inline styles of a child tag overrides the parent' inline style. So how are tools supposed to be smart and override the tags, purely from a CSS? Firstly, its up to web designers to make sure they leave inline styles alone. Dont do it. Problem solved. Accessibility styles would be...

This Episodes Thought RSS has a long way to go. When the large and smaller producers cant create a valid format. Google BlogSearch Have you noticed that google blogsearch adds html tags to the rss title tag? they wrap the found keywords in bold within the title. This is not good practice. using FEED Validator, google's blog search rss, and...

I have been tracking the feed market for a while and decided to start some special posts regarding it. If you have any feed related technologies, send me a link. This Episodes Thought Do we have Web Semantic [Web] Dementia? Semantic Web Dementia would be: Semantic Web Dementure (SWD), is a progressive language, semantic and ontology disorder...

As I suspected in my previous post, there was such a traffic move to view Scoble, that podtech went down. Is this the biggest "software celebrity"/ "blog celebrity" effect ever? Fantastic.

Well done Rogers, nice one. :) You have to read the last few posts to get the scenario.

Controversial? not just I, but many think that RSS will be the little torch that gets us through the darkness of things to come. RSS provides a platform on which to build. RDF creators would have of course loved for RDF to be as widespread. I have just started (rather late, and rather early), depending on how you look at it, getting into some...

As we all know, the real needs and hopes within the web have far surpassed our technologies. My son, has come into the web world over the last few years. Learning html a few years back, he was horrified at the little he could do, and the flimsy nature of html. I tried explaining first the history, what the web looked like 10 or more years ago...

Spam, what a drag! now SpamBlogs. Clearly this is getting worse and will get worse. It is (imho) the responsibility of blog search engines and indexing sites to mark these and not include them. Point of entry is better, no one will willingly subscribe to one directly, so for feed readers, it would be much more ineffective. the pattern should be...

I tend to agree with the tyranny of the buzzword but it is the "age of words" an amusing look The process for seeking names of companies, products, specifications and technologies all have one thing in common - the need to get it into the mind of the consumers. As with everything, as more is thought up, its harder to find that right name. And...

Well, England put in a decent effort, beating Hungary. My wife was born in England but with Hungarian parents. So we took a little wager. For probably the first time ever, I managed to not only guess the win, but the 3-1 score line. Carragher needs to replace Neville on the right, he is in too good a defensive form to not be in the starting...

In Britain we get so used to saying it is a Bank Holiday, sometimes it's hard to know what day it actually is. So what holiday is this? I have seen Ascension Day, Spring Bank Holiday, Memorial Day and a few others. Which one is which? Cant we name them by their actual name.? From a historic point of view, subscribe to: On this Day feed (xmlurl)

Some thoughts and ramblings on SCORM. Beginning of last year I designed and implemented, together with Matt Ball (one of my coders), a Scorm Course Player. We developed it using the First Version of the SCORM 2004 specifications, and have now moved through the revisions, addendums, and now finally on the 3rd Edition Draft, which we are closing...

tradtional lectures that is. Dr Bill Ashraf - (from bbc) favours podcasts over traditional lectures. Of course this is probably not the first? it definitely wont be the last.
