After reviewing the component auto-discovery code I got into the Tapestry component resolution classes and added the feature to the built-in page and component resolution. Now I don't even need the extension declaration in my application specification, less configuration.

After reading the initial Less Configuration posting it occurred to me that I left out the most important information, what is it all for?

All I want to do is to be able to add components to my application, in any directory structure I find convenient under /WEB-INF and not have to maintain the application specification.
