With an accurate sarcasm that can only be matched by the likes of the Bile Blog, Cory has commented on the navel-gazing self-amazement of the Ruby on Rails community. Definitely worth a full read but here is a choice quote: "Let’s all circle jerk and marvel at the amazingness that is drag ‘n drop ordering in 37signal’s Backpack."

Today's podcast is about the stuff I am working on these days. I was talking about the marketing stuff I am working on for our store, as well as the software that I am developing in my spare time and the purposes I am developing it for.

Core and I experimented with doing a podcast from our office today. We have talked about this for a few days, and started to record one yesterday, but today we are posting it. It is mostly talking about Ruby on Rails, but there is a little off topic stuff too. It is very casual. Also, since my dad has been talking about music blogs and music...

So we are experimenting with Ruby on Rails at work. One question that we haven't been able to find an acceptable answer to is how to encrypt/decrypt credit cards with Ruby. It looks like the best way is to pass it off to command line pgp interfaces, but that is less than ideal. Granted, we are ruby newbs, so we may just not know where to look...
