As promised, RubyOSA 0.2.0 has just been released! Lots of work has been put in this release, especially by external contributors (special thanks to Vincent Isambart). Please check it out and report us the feedback as usual. We are also very interested in applications that RubyOSA is not able to handle (yet), so please feel free to contact us...

Since my last message about XML::Reader there has been some activity. We iterated twice on the patch, then I got CVS access (w00t!) and merged it straight. And today, libxml-ruby 0.4.0 pre 1 has been released, which is super cool. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to work on the RDoc reference yet. I may have some time once RubyOSA 0.2.0...

For the curious, here is the patch to bring the xmlTextReader API to the libxml-ruby project, that I used in my previous hack. The patch has been generated from CVS HEAD. Everything valuable should be wrapped, but note that the test cases are not complete and that there is no documentation (RDoc comments) yet. As the libxml-ruby guys were...

I spent the thanksgiving break in Lyon, doing great things. I profited to advance a bit in Japanese and especially in Kanji. Someone pointed me to the WordLookup program which is cool to get some information about a specific Kanji (you can even input the Kana, or the English word). The problem is that this program is slow and commercial. I...

Too much things I would like to write about, I miss the time... but I can't let this one leave. Sometimes Sun clearly smoke crack, but sometimes they can do wonderful things, like releasing Java as Free Software. And under the GPL, s'il vous plait! This is a very good news for everyone scared by the trap issue (now old). Making Sun's Java...

So I attended RubyConf, and as I expected it was a very great success. Congratulations to the organizers and the attendees. I believe that my talk about Ruby in Mac OS X was well received by the audience, but I suspect RubyOSA got most of the attention. I thought that RubyCocoa would have been more successful, but my demo wasn't that exciting...

So we are finally there, RubyOSA 0.1.0 has been released. Thanks to everyone for the feedback. This project has in my opinion a great future, and we have plenty of ideas to make it better. Just after my demo during RubyConf, I received 3 patches. Which have been merged to this first release. And people started using it to do some interesting...
