Security Evaluation of J2ME CLDC Embedded Java Platform from the Jounral of Object technology might seem like a very small white paper. However, after reading it I am not so sure it is a small paper in its effect.

Basicaly,the paper covers the security problems in MIDP 2.0 and than introduces a new CLDC security problem concerning proper access rights when using certain RMS classes. The problems with the MIDP SSL implementation are also discussed at length.

I would expect to see some small changes in the RMS implementation to elimnate developer access to the RMS class RecordStoreFile which is an internal class that application developers should not have access to in eithe rthe RIs or on the device itself.
