The part of the Facebook Application developer Set Up that catches people is the network setup. Assuming you have static IP addy from a dsl or other router you need to set up port forwarding through that router. Once that is compete grab a no-ip.com account and assign a domain name sub name to that IP address. Than you have a nice yourname.no-ip.com address to type in the browser window instead of that IP addy.

To verify set-up you do a ping yourname.no-ip.com type address and you should see the outer Ip that your router shows to internet with the hops going through. Depending on how you set up your server if star the Apache server and enter the site name you should get an Apache default page or a directory contents page.
