Weather services like AccuWeather are petitioning legislators to introduce a bill force NOAA to remove free access to their weather data because it threatens their business model.

That's just crazy! I can't give away data because it interferes with someone else trying to sell it? This would send weather information back to the pre-Internet days. No more going to the NOAA web site and looking up the latest 10-day forecast, or local radar loops to see if a storm is coming. We'd have to pay for it!
