If you think SelectionInList (and friends) is a good idea, then should there be a SelectionInText as a "value model" for text fields?

Or is the fact that TextEditor widgets don't use a special model construct an indication that SelectInList never was a good idea?

I think I have an answer I'm happy with, but am curious what readers think, and in particular, why?
