Encoding Problem :( (newbie question) Posted: Feb 27, 2006 7:31 PM

Hello,
I was pulling raw data from the web and I get this error:
UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\u2013' in position 17: ordinal not in range(128)

It actually originated from a mysql escape character method....it appears it cannot read this character. It's actually a hyphen!
I can't even display that character in the linux terminal. Is there any solution to this that you guys may know of?

Thanks for your help in advance!
