The Ruby on Rails way is starting to influence thinkers in Java. Matt Raible apologizes on behalf of J2EE on how silly it looks to do CRUD in AppFuse and Trails has been announced as an approximation of Rails with Java frameworks.

The Rails framework is aiming for a brighter public profile by getting a professional designer to do a visual identity for the project. I asked the community for $1,000 for the project. The Pragmatic Programmers filled half of that request on behalf of the Pragmatic Bookshelf.

After almost a year of incognito development, I've released Rails in its entirety. It's aimed as a step up for PHP programmers and a release of pain for the Java/C# crowd. Oh, and it's all done in Ruby.

Instiki is a instant-on wiki based on Ruby, Madeleine (Prevayler for Ruby), WEBrick, and rendering by Textile, Markdown, and RDoc. Yearh, I'm pimping it alright.
