JVM Memory issue

I have around 15 jvm running on a single server system. That system has 1 GB of memory. All the applications are almost similar in nature. But when I try to start 16th jvm, the server system gets restarted everytime. I checked the space on system and plenty of it is free.

Can anybody help me figure out the reason ?

Also, inputs on memory utilization by a jvm would help.

how about increasing the CAche memory
