I want to use a Java GUI to send mails with attachements.
The best solution would be to use the standard mail program (so I would have a copy of the mail in that program).
The simpliet way to achieve this is to use the mailto URL.
But I don't know how to append files this way.
If it doesn't work using the mailto URL, please tell me another solution.
If I have to send the mails directly to the SMTP server without the standard mail program, that would be fine, too.

You could use the JavaMail package from Sun. The download comes with examples and it's pretty easy to format a mail and send it to an SMTP server. Adding attachments is handled via the API as well.
