hi,

i need to know about the java compiler!!


"how does java compiler convert java source to java byte code"


and i need some detailed information on the java compiler phases

if theres any links,books which contain this please advise me!!

Its a bit of a thick read, but Sun has a specification for byte code and the virtual machine.

This doesn't talk specifically about the compiler, but does discuss the byte code of Java. You can also download the Java source code under the new Java Research License from Sun. That is located here:
