JavaMail API has Classes such as:
SMTPAddressFailedException

> is viewed

To me that sounds a bit like Hacking unless you
request a receipt from the receipient.

Now that's definitely hacking, most likely impossible
in Java. Unless you send him an executable that
has a time stamp and is opened with his message,
comming back to the same topic: *Hacking*.

JavaMail is your friend.

Sent: easy to count as you send
Bounced: let the mailserver do that, you would otherwise need to create a mail client to gather the bounces.
Viewed: no way to do that. You can ask for a read receipt but there's no guarantee that that will be returned (most mailclients can be told to not send them, and any person who knows what he's doing turns that on so no receipts are sent (and thus spammers never know their mail arrived).
Number of times viewed: impossible. Receipts are sent at most once for each message. Not your responsibility anyway, once it's sent it's out of your hand.

First get some English language classes where you'll learn about the errors in that last paragraph.

Just for kicks here is some very malicious pseudo
code to check time taken viewing a message.

Note: will not work on *nix systems.

XP executes Jars so you can do this in XP:

create sub-program/process/thread program that is spawned
as soon as email is opened - as an attachment or with a
sniffer/listener customized to this message.

add AppCloser listener

create a timestamp

when Appclosed mark end of from when time stamp was created.

spawn a mail client thread to listen to port 25, every
x minutes, when connection/open port found, fire it back
to your mail box.

Kind of nasty, though possible and honestly a waste of time.
