Canvas is always on top of my menu

I added a canvas onto a JFrame (CENTER) and when I click on the menu, the menu items are drawn under the canvas. What is the solution for this?

You don't need to repeat your question.
If someone knows, he'll answer.

Try not using the paint methd to display your content.

Do not combine awt components with swing components. This have been raised in the SUN Java bug database. Instead of the canvas class, make use of the JPanel.
