Can anyone explain how to send doc to printer using swing?

I have used java for awhile but am confused when it comes to javax.swing. I know that there exsist a java.swing.print package but don't understand how to use it . Can anyone give some idea on how to send a document to the printer to get printed. Any info would be appriciated.

I found this webpage http://www.apl.jhu.edu/~hall/java/Swing-Tutorial/Swing-Tutorial-Printing.html but when I tried it with a textArea it came out to 9999 pages since the text area goes to infinity in all directions. Is there any way for me to limit the text area/divide it into pages so I can let the printer know when the text is stopped?
